Digging Into the mystery of 1Peter 5:10 which says
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
One major thing about man is that, he dosen’t want suffering. Serving the Lord should be truly full of splendour as painted to us and pleasant surprises yet the fact is not without some noticeable trials. For us to appreciates the worth of salvation which connected us to God, we must always remind ourselves that it cost Jesus His blood. That salvation of your soul which connected you to all that your heavenly father can offer you came at blood price. Most children in the family don’t really know the height of depravity and suffering their father had to went through to build his business to a world class standard, what most of them knew is to claim status and show off their father’s wealth. You need to appreciate the fact that Christianity being most popular religion and only way to God cost his only begotten son/.
Therefore for you to have a fulfilling and ever progressing life on the earth will cost you some level of discipline and atimes going through life threatening situation because of the presence of evil that detaste your advancement. Some of us may have to ask, why did I need to suffer for what Jesus had already suffered for, to you, you want everything splendid without pains, pant and tough times. Mind the following answers
- The earth is negative and defensive to God’s blessing and you have to build up capacity to hold through positively. Going God’s way to uphold any good thing.
- Through suffering for it, you learn to keep it.
- Suffering for it helps you to live a discipline life and curtail yourself within the covenant of God.
- Suffering for it helps to know how to win battles yourself obeying and adhering to scriptural guidelines.
- Suffering for it help in cutting off your excesses, and you will be standing as a kingdom masterpiece.
- Through suffering for it you gained establishment.
- Through suffering for it you gained strength without which you might slide back into perdition.
You will agree with me that fasting, denying self gratification, training up, lifting weight, exercising are all some forms of suffering in other to gain something valuable, better and greater. …after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Quite some fellow had gotten to enviable positions but lost it through carelessness. Some maltreated their good spouse and were deserted. Some got good well paid job but misbehave and lost the job. Some were healed from life-taking disease but went back to the sinful act that caused it. Some men were privileged to be connected to people in power but through pride they lost it. For that great blessings God is channelling your way, you might still need to go through the door of suffering: Receive grace In Jesus name.
