Receive grace to turn your life around as Jabez did in 1Chronicle 4:9-10
And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
It’s good that parents especially women come to this light that no matter what hits them during pregnancy or while waiting on the Lord, has nothing to do with the child. That child may not be the cause of your calamity, it could be self, devil or some enemies because even if they are fair names, the intention behind it will still follow the child. In the case of Jabez, sorrow was plastered on his forehead because of the anguish of the mother. The life of Jabez is a prove that sorrow can end with us and not be inherited by our seeds if we can call on God the Almighty.
Jabez was a an honourable man with all kinds of sorrow. He’s life is an embodiment of sorrow And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow… their are people like Jabez among us today, that are honourable among many but with noticeable sorrow. For you to be wise and be poor is an error, to look handsome and with deadly diseases is not normal, to be poverty stricken in the midst of rich friends is not ordinary. To be a fine marriage counsellor and not be married is terrible, to have business ideas that works for others and you couldn’t establish anything for yourself is disheartening. To be an honourable community leader with an abject poverty is sorrowful.
Jabez came to full understanding of who God of Israel is, his right as an Israelite and he got a turnaround positive story when he prayed. There was no mention of Prophet, atonement, offering or sacrifice in his case, the bible said And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
So you have to come to full persuasions of who God is, what he can do and why he must do it. If you can appreciate this truth that God is the
- The creator of heaven and the earth.
- Creator of man
- Head of all and all look up to him
- Only one that can perfectly fix (human) you.
- Prayer answering God.
Yet as we continue to run from pillar to post trying to get to God through some other means, we defer our miracle to another day. As we keep looking for men to help from one place to another, that way we will keep dwelling outside the good we genuinely desire, but if you can step out and call on God with full assurance that He is, you will see his hand now.
Nothing guarantees your assurance in God for answered prayers like salvation of your soul.
