For you to come into the full understanding of God’s goodness this awesome edition of Voices From Zion is written simply Titled: THE BLESSINGS OF HIS RESURRECTION Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Jesus is out inviting you into the Life of peace and splendour, a life of fulfilment and continuous testimony. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:18. Jesus has all power to set you free and make your dreams come true. One of his profound statement is…for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5 Jesus the only Saviour, helper of the helpless and the only one that brings out from the prisons of life and sets free is calling on you today. Would you surrender your life to him today? Because until you do, you won’t be a beneficiary of THE BLESSINGS OF HIS RESURRECTION. Truly he died for all but only those that accept him as their Lord and Saviour have access to the blessings of his resurrection.
What Are The Blessings Of His Resurrection?
…When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive… meaning he bounded what captures people into everlasting bondage. So you can be free from whatever is tying you down. Your freedom through Christ’s resurrection can be total and absolute. Before the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, it was very hard for any man to change from one evil habit or bad character to a good one. Most of the people of Old Testament suffer death penalty as the judgement for their wrongs because there was no possibility of total freedom from evil. Some of the ‘saints’ of old were also captured by the forces of filthiness and ungodliness except few that found grace and were able to scale through by determination and fear of God.
Some happening classified as captivity in Old Testament of the Bible includes:
- And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. *And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. *And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. Genesis 6:5-7. They were all captured by the forces of wickedness and have no power to deliver themselves, no principle or instruction could hold them back from their wrongs because they were captured. Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. You can be that Noah of this generation that though everyone had gone wrong, you can be different.
- Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: *And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land. Genesis 12:1, 10 Abram was ordered by God to leave his country to a place He will show him, he left and while in the journey he went off and down to Egypt where he needed to lie for the fear of being killed. When God delivered him, he was yet cornered by filthiness and slept with one of the maid he got from Egypt and got a Child out of God’s covenant with him. But all these happened to him because he was in captivity of the flesh. God called him back to order: After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 15:1. but the result of his treason against God is still all around us today.
Achan was so engrossed with the spirit of covetousness, and he intentionally stole and put Israel in trouble, But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel. The result of this was that Israel ran before Ai and some of them were killed. All they suffered were caused by the sin of one man in the camp. Then when Achan was fished out …Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor. * And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones. *And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day. Joshua 7:1-26 this column won’t contain the error committed by the people of Old Testament. David numbered Israel 1Samuel 24:1-25 against God’s commandment, same David was overtaken with the spirit of adultery and ended in shedding innocent blood. Jonah hated Nineveh where God sent him and on his way to Tarshish he was swallowed by a whale and spent three days in the belly of the fish. Jonah 1-4 says it all. Up until Jesus Christ came, died and rose from the dead, their was no such thing that delivers any from the captivity of hell. We can deduce that most of the time, the team of Jesus his disciples suffers on the sea was because Judas Iscariot was in their midst. Whoever in your life troubling you with his evil characters, God Almighty will uproot them today in Jesus name.
Even after the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ many are still captured by captivity in Christendom because they haven’t come into the full understanding of God’s goodness towards them. The Lord can set you free from those evil habits. One of the major blessings of his resurrection is being delivered from whatever ties us down as we come into the reality of his offer for us. If you can list out what you classified as bondages and problems, and call on Jesus Christ in prayers, he will hear you. More so, the prove of …he led captivity captive… are all around us today such as a harlot that turns to an evangelist and blazing the trail with the word of Life. Also there were once some evil men and women destroying lives of many but now got changed and are gaining very many souls into God’s kingdom. Saul was turned to Paul in Act 9, and became the most recognised and respected Apostle of Jesus Christ. It is the blessing of resurrection for someone that is totally evil to encounter salvation and become an instrument of goodness and vessel unto honour in the hand of God. Let’s move onto the next one:
…and gave gifts unto men. Yes! What are the gifts God gives to his children? But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. *For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; *To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; *To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: *But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. *For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 1Corinthans 12:7-12.
(1.) The gifts of the Holy Ghost which are numerous and diverse in operations To make man operate in the capacity of divinity. None of the gifts were obvious in the saints of old but most of the people rely on the prophets and some other gods.
It’s the blessing of resurrection when a child of God is infused with heavenly ability to achieve what’s humanly impossible. Without the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, Christians won’t have been able to do things he did. One of those good things is that anyone who had surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ has at least a gift from him. Every heaven worthy child of God shouldn’t be found stranded in life as he will always be divinely educated to know what to do at every point.
(2.) Good Things: Such as building or owning a house without stress, home without tears, flourishing business without chaos. Gifts can be material, monetary and even some human always coming for your rescue and help you achieve your good goals, such are a gifts from God. God knows your need, capacity and antecedents and that’s the more reason he sent you gifts. Matthew 7:7-11, it’s also recorded in Isaiah 43:3-4 that For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. *Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Only God can give a whole nation to a man, and give the life of many to one. The blessings of resurrection.
