UNEQUAL YOKING WITH UNBELIEVERS
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? *And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? *And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2ndCorinthians 6:14-16
Up until now, there is no community on the earth today where we can affirm that everyone dwelling there are all of one FAITH in Christ. If success in all your good endeavours, overflowing anointing, progress in spite of economic collapse, blessed life with no form of curses, must be your heritage, then the message of unequal yoking must be obeyed. If your glorious future must be achievable and if heaven must be your eternal home, then step out of unequal yoking.
You need to understand that the presence of some persons in your life is an error. Their presence with you will debar you from walking successfully with God to his desired destination for you. Their is no way to enjoy success God’s way by being unequally yoked. When you succeed by God only, even the world’s highly rated will bow to you.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:… anyone who doesn’t buy into your God given mandate and vision is an unbeliever to you. People that trample on your testimonies, your wins, your spiritual exploits are unbelievers to you. People who never agree to the light you have found are unbelievers. Those who don’t receive your good reports should not be submit to. There is no way a believer in Christ can cope in the midst of those that rejects his or her faith. Once they don’t receive your biblical insight then there should be separation if you want to sustain your value.
…for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?…no fellowship because they lead to different places. Truth is always demanded for when progress and enlargement is in view. No nation on the earth can triumph without truth. So there is no fellowship between righteousness and unrighteousness. You need fact to move ahead not falsehood. Once you notice unrighteousness in anyone around you; you need to be careful and tread gently less you fall into some sorts of mischief and be destroyed. An unrighteous person has nothing good to offer your great future. Though the people preferred Barabbas to Jesus Christ because they were moved, but they will never want him to rule them however Jesus was sought for to be the king.
…and what communion hath light with darkness?… No communion. Light shows, darkness goes! The more the light, the farther away, the darkness. Some man are complete darkness, if you journey with them, there are known tendencies that you may not return. The end of darkness is darkness and the end of light is Light.
…And what concord hath Christ with Belial?… actually none. Striking hands with killers makes you one of them. Jesus Christ preaches the kingdom of God and always crushes the domain of Satan. Up until now and till rapture of the saints will come, the name of Jesus will continue to paralyze and destroyed Satanic abode. So being a gangster, a thug, the sexually perverted, the wicked and the likes are never in the company of Christ. So if your home become an abode of the Belial then the Devil is licensed to operate there. Any porous, irresponsible man or woman that lived negatively to moral standard are the infidels, they shouldn’t be in our choice of friends as a believers.
…And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?… There is no such agreement. Where we call on the name of God Almighty can’t also be the house of Idols. A genuine Christian can never pray to Idol. Anyone can be apprehended with deceit but if you have given yourselves to the demand of scriptures then you won’t fall because God’s word will uphold us. This is it, the devil will offer you anything at a price you must pay yet God gives out free. So if you step out of idolatry and become godly, you will enjoy God’s free gifts.
…for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Imagine it for a minute, a man pointing gun to the Almighty God, or some men gather up against God to kill him, it can’t happen! So if you want to be unhampered and invincible then step out of unequal yoking. You might not have the right friends to roll with but through oneness with God, the right people to your life will begin to walk in. However, stepping out of unequal yoking requires wisdom and prayers.
