You are welcome to the place where God dwells, a place of divine wisdom. Is there any day we should lose our guards? Is there any spiritual holiday? Is there any free day we should misbehave to enjoy life? Is their any day we should intentionally do the wrong? Also is there any day Almighty God cannot do miracles? Is there any void day? Is there a day of nothing good? Is there any day we should not be expectant of good things? Is there any particular day God has set aside to surprise you? AN ORDINARY DAY
Acts 3:1-11 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. *And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; *Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. *And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. *And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. *Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. *And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. *And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. *And all the people saw him walking and praising God: *And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. *And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
The fact is that there is no day without some form of activities going on. Since creation their has never been a declared sleeping and workless day. Even God Almighty that lives outside time never sleep nor slumber, he’s ever awake. Peter and John were going into the temple at the hour of prayer when they encountered a lame man that was healed through them. Leaping and jumping on an ordinary day.
There was no pre- information that he will be healed that day, Peter and John had no Idea that such a notable miracle will be done by them that day. That means our FAITH IN GOD should be intact every day. We Christians should never turn away from our sacred activities. What are Christian’s daily sacred activities?
- DAILY PRAYERS: Prayers is not once in a while it is a daily sacred activity. Open the day with prayers, go on in the day with prayers, do everything in the days by prayers, no prayer free day. It is good to be prayerful, it makes you carry God’s presence all the time. Any day without communicating with God is a day lost. People suffer unnecessary fear because they have not spoken to God. Every believer must touch the throne of heaven on daily basis. Psalm 65:2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
- DAILY PRAISE: Praising God should be everyday because it is required. Thanking God should be always. It is a choice that must be made. Psalm 34:1-3 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. *My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. *O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
- DAILY WORSHIP AT THE TEMPLE: This has been reduced to one or two days a week because of other activities, yet the Bible kind of worship among the disciples of Jesus is daily. Acts 3:1 says Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. Acts 5:42 says And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. I wonder what has happen to daily early morning prayers in the temple(Church)? Some of the activities we stopped are the reason we are no more operating in God’s Power as of old. We are no more seeing the hand of God as before because we have dropped some godly activities, and pick up some mean and unnecessary activities. Today there are Christians that count praying before going out, when they arrive and before sleeping as mean religious activities. Those activities carry divine life if done with focus on God Almighty. Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
- DAILY SPIRITUALITY: Spirituality here means, being conscious of God’s Power within and his presence all around you. So we must keep to spirituality and ready to issue out authority by the engagement of our mouth. Going on spiritual siesta can be very dangerous as opportunity to mount up again may be impossible. Most battles and evil attacks comes without forewarning, our days are also full of chaotic happenings which might come suddenly to terminate but with spirituality, you will be exempted. Also on the other hand spirituality can makes you an instrument of solution to other’s situation and answer to the questions on the lives of many. Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. That person that always put God’s word into practice and mind God in all he does will enjoy peace but carnality ‘or neutral life’ make you vulnerable to the wolves of this world.
- DAILY FRUIT BEARING: It’s daily duty of every one Christian to preach the gospel in whatever form God grant you grace you every day. Drawing multitudes of men, women, boys and girls to our Lord Jesus Christ given mandate. We should always bare in mind that no matter the assistance rendered to people, no matter the relieve materials sent to them or the kindness we show to them, it can never be like sharing the gospel with them. As our humanitarian efforts and help we render are great we should not deny them the blessings of Salvation. Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Fruit bearing daily is possible with the help of God; someone will be touch by God through you and be saved. If we make fruit bearing (salvation of souls) our core assignment, God will convert souls through our availability. Apostle Paul in the Bible saidd For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 1 Corinthians 9:16 secondly in from Act 3:1-11
THE MAN WAS HEALED.
He was carried to the beautiful gate but on an ordinary day he walked back home with his legs. Just in this very ordinary day God will step into your case and turn it around for your good. You shall cry no more as he’s turning your weeping to joy. Yet you need to note that the man’s attention was divinely caught and because he wasn’t disappointed in Peter and John he got much more than silver or gold which he was begging for. …And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. *And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them…
Therefore when your day doesn’t go the way you expected it, at times it may be for your good. From today you will begin to encounter God in a new way. The man was a known beggar and no one was expecting him to be healed that day, it was normal church service day, no one was expecting really much but God make it his day. Today can be that day your story will turn around. Jesus stepped into his ordinary day and turned it to a special day of celebration. The same will be your portion today. Thirdly we also discovered that there was amazement and wonder.
Those that never associated with him, those that have concluded his matter in their heart was amazed at his healing. The bible says …And all the people saw him walking and praising God: *And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him… also if you sustain your spirituality and keep doing your God given assignments, God will be using you to turn people’s ordinary day to a special day.
