GOD THE SOURCE OF LIFE.
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Psalm 36:9
Yes! God is the source of life; everything has it source in life. God is the ‘life plant’ whom all is connected to. In him is everything consist. Life does not come from man, life is given to man. Manufacturing life can’t be possible, no matter the research and efforts of whoever, why? God is the only source of Life. Life in it diversities includes plant life, animal life, water life and human life among others. Life is what gives meaning to creatures, without life in human structure; it’s reduced to corpse. So also is everything we engage in has their kind of life. Secondarily, there is marital life, business life, social life, national life, team life among so many. Secondary life are created by some set of instructions obeyed and principles followed. So we are going to selectively look into the following kinds of life: (primary and secondary)
- Plant Life: Genesis 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. So we could see from this scripture that plants have life. That is the main reason we have vegetation around us today. Because there is no end to life. God Almighty set a seal of blessing on the earth when Noah reared an altar of sacrifice, Genesis 8:21-22 says And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. *While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Plant life makes germination to fruition possible. Jesus also said in Mark 4:28 that For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Whatever has no life is static and don’t grow further. For plant to get connected to life God has for it then it must remain planted in the earth. John 12:24
- Animal Life: Genesis 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. Yes, animal life was spoken into existence by God. The earth gave birth to them. Several kinds of beast was birthed when God commanded it and they are still around us today because they have life. Ecclesiastes 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? The Life of beast is connected to the earth so as long as there is earth, there will be animals.
- Water Life: Genesis 1:20-23 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. *And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. *And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. *And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. It took a whole day to have this done, no wonder there are still more discoveries from water. Water gave birth to living creatures at the command of God and that’s the reason most of the things that came out of water are sustained by waters. Without water they are shot-lived. No fish can sustain life outside water. When rivers dry fishes dies but when rivers flows fishes swim. The psalmist considered this aspect of creation and said Psalm 104:24-25 O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. *So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
- Human Life: Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. God does not only created man in his own image and likeness, he also breathed into man and he became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. So it’s clear that man’s life is connected to God directly, though he was formed from the dust of the earth yet his real being is connected to his maker. So man at the beginning have the very life of God in him. So when other things die they go down to the earth but when man dies, he goes to the one that made him to give account. Also on the earth, we need to understand that ministry, endaevour and all vocations have life that sustains it. Let’s look at
- Business Life: When God created man, he also gave him work to do. He was actually engaging in that labour until he was sent out of the garden of Eden and begin hard labour which has claimed the life of some today. Creativity, innovation and breaking new grounds in our business become hard because what make it flow easily is out of it. Genesis 2:19-20 Adam name all animals as God would have named them. God did the creation Adam did the naming. It could be noted that divine inoculation could be attributed to Adam before the fall. Once integrity is uppermost in a business and God’s orders for the business are followed, then the business will continue to enjoy ceaseless flow of grace but if the life in a business should die, the business will lost all relevance. If you can connect your dying business to God by giving to God’s kingdom expansion on the earth and humanitarian efforts, it will regain life. Business life could also refer to your times in business. The bible says Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Ecclesiastes 12:1. Quite some are enjoying their business life currently and spending on lust, could afford so many things now but don’t ponder on what will become of their business and life when they are older.
- Marital Life: It’s such a life that sustains the oneness of a man and woman together as single family but once you break the covenant that keeps this life their will be trauma uninvited. Just as joy can turn to sorrow and sweetness to bitterness; when the life that sustains your marriage fizzles out, then the Love turns to hatred and sweet home will be like a den of lions. Once a cool place suddenly turns to an oven, people will begin to jump out. Love is so powerful that it makes you blind to your spouse’s imperfection but when you begin to take note of the imperfections then the life in your marriage is under attack. In a real home you will find this scripture 1 Peter 3:8 fulfilled. It says Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: turning away from God can bring in hard times in your home. Their shall be restoration in Jesus name.
- Social Life Have you suddenly lost your fame and the interest of your friends, neighbours or fans?. Have you failed your people and everyone lost interest in you? It also happened to David in the Bible: 1 Samuel 30:3-6 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. *Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep…And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. So encourage yourself in the Lord. Some had lost their social life as their sense of humour no longer sell but with God your loses can be restored double. And because David involved God in this matter, the bible says And David inquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 1 Samuel 30:8 now it’s time to get back to God on your kneel and he will show you the way out. Something shocking happened: And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. 1 Samuel 30:18
GOD THE SOURCE OF LIFE.

Without God you are merely existing. not living. If any aspect of your human life is challenged, it can be fixed by divine life of God because it’s a superior life. You can only have access to that life by being born again. For with thee is the fountain of life… can be re-read this way ‘For with God is the Source of life: so anything working on its’ own is working by God. Therefore if there is a challenge, it can only be fixed by who is working it. …in thy light shall we see light. In (God’s) showing shall we see the way out. You can find the way out of any terminal diseases and life threatening situations by appreciating and going to the source of life, God!
God is the essence of life, so no wicked one can determine how long you live, as long as you will keep seeking for more of God, you will never be confused. The Bible is Christian’s bank of light, the more we reason with it, the more the light. The solution handed down to all human on earth is called the HOLY BIBLE. Also being part of the body of church will do you a world of good.
