It’s very easy to know who a Christian is. It isn’t difficult to know those that are truly born again and had encountered Jesus Christ. It isn’t far-fetched to notice those that heaven had delivered from earthly limitations. Earthly living is subjected to some laws. You are either in bondage or you are free, it’s either you are trying or thriving, you are either struggling or settled. Come with me to this exciting journey where new kind of Life will be unleashed to you, you will be free from bondages, limitations and controls as you get into studying this edition of Voices From Zion Titled:
I CAN TESTIFY
written from Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Our State Of Life: There are controls and laws that you can’t free yourself from. Your sense of smell, seeing, hearing, taste, is under some earthly influences. How would a full grown man wake up from sleep and call himself evil names? For you to feel nothing; embracing evil things proves that you are under some influences because naturally no man wanted to be insane or run mad. A lady of about 20 years said sometimes ago that money is everything, without money life is nothing and that she can do anything to earn millions of money. She wanted to walk with celebrities and live a high life, in a world you can sleep and not wake up the next day. The wonder of this is that if a young woman can think like this; what might be going in the heart of some young men will be worse. Our state of life is under the siege of sin which we cannot naturally deal with. Exodus 20:1-20, God gave them commandment and they failed in keeping them. Many in the Old Testament wriggled under the weight of sin till they died. 2 Chronicle 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
- Noah the son of God, a man that found grace in God’s sight couldn’t refrain himself from being drunk Genesis 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
- Abraham listened to his wife and took in Hagar, an Egyptian and she bare Ishmael outside God’s covenant. Genesis 16:3-4 And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. *And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
- Moses respond negatively to a sighted situation, he killed an Egyptian Exodus 2:11-14 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. *And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
- David took in Bath-sheba Uriah’s wife and killed Uriah in battle, what a wickedness. 2nd Samuel 11:15-17 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die. *And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
- Eli the Prophet failed before God and priesthood was removed from his house. 1Samuel 3:11-14 *And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. *In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. *For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. *And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
- Elijah, the Tishbite, the prophet that calls down fire ran before a witch called Jezebel 1King 19: 1-4 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. *Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. *And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. *But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
- John the Baptist the fore runner of Jesus also got offended in who he was sent to make known to the world. Matthew 11:3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
- Solomon Loved the Lord and sacrificed, then the Lord make him the wisest, the richest and grant him peace but later Loved strange women and his heart departed from the Lord, and God raise enmity against him.1King 10:1-3, 11:1-43
- Miriam and Aaron stood against Moses but the Lord came down against them. Numbers 12:1-16
- God took Saul to be king over Israel but he was overtaken by pride and disobedience and God’s spirit departed from him. 1Samuel 16:15 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.
- In 1Chronicle 26:1-23 Uzziah started with God but crashed when his heart was lifted within him. He died a leprous man.
- Gehazi Elisha’s servant who would have perhaps inherited the double portion of Elisha’s Grace ended up as white as snow with leprosy because of covetousness. 1King 5:1-27
So our state of life; no matter our smartness and exploits are submerged under earthly influences without the saving power of salvation. It’s possible for you to have met pastors, prophet, prophetess, miracle workers, with obvious sinful act. Yes they are all around us, because that a man is tagged a man of God doesn’t mean that he has overcome the power operating against him.
Killings of fowls, turtledove, sheep, and other animals to appease and atone for sin was almost an everyday thing in the old testament of the Bible. To imagine how their temples will look like; it will be littered with feathers, blood, animal skins and all kinds. Hebrew 10:7-12 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; *Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. *By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. *And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: *But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
The Truth: is Jesus. And until you encounter him, you are not free. You can’t encounter the truth and not testify. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. The truth is the door way to another state of life. Today some believers are like the congregation of old. They work for God but taken by some sinful forces. So their chances of making heaven is very slim. Until you encounter Jesus Christ and be saved with all your senses in agreement, you are not safe.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2
The Old Testament state of Life: Is Governed by …the law of sin and death. Here, everyone fulfill the lust of the flesh. Many of them couldn’t hold through Holy Living, most always return back to idolatry. Not even Moses could keep all the law. Numbers 20:7-12 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, *Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. *And Moses took the rod from before the Lord… he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. *And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
The New State Of Life: is governed by …the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus… which is a living force that allow one to thrive in Holiness. It’s such a law that comes with life. Fulfilling the laws of God becomes easy and enjoyable. When that law hit Saul on his way to Damascus, he became Paul the great, Apostle of higher order with the testimony of holiness; all the ‘Christians-killing’ spirits in him fled. …the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus… will make you live straight and holy in this defiled world of today. Peter preached and about three thousand souls turn to the Lord. You can win several multiplied thousands of souls to the Lord if you are inoculated with …the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus… just as the law of sin and death enforces you to do the wrong, so also the law of life in Christ Jesus empowers you to obey God’s laws and do God’s things with joy. This new state of Life is the testimony of real Christians.
The writer of Romans 8:2 was testifying to God’s goodness by saying: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Many do testify of good jobs, house built, health and so many other good doings, but the greatest testimony of all times is the difference between your life before in the world of sin and your life now in Christ. If there are no clear differences between your old life and now, you are not born again yet. Remain ever blessed.
