PRAISING GOD WITH CONFIDENCE
It’s very easy to take people by their word and trust them to do for us some certain things, but you will agreed with me that some had promised us before and never fulfill it due to some reasons beyond their control. What will you do if the man that promised you huge amount of money died before handing it over to you the very day he was ready to give it to you? Men and women promises a lot but do not have power over their own breathe. Some covenanted to do some certain things but couldn’t keep to their oath. Now there is a need to shift our gaze from man to God Almighty, though invisible but the surest. For you to know how to hold on to this unseen invincible
God with physical effect, you need to dip yourself into this edition of Voices From Zion titled:
PRAISING GOD WITH CONFIDENCE
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. *In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. *In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Psalm 56:4, 10-11
Not every praise offered unto God is acceptable. Not all sweet melodies are received by him. Some of those jamborees are merely noise to him.
How do we offer acceptable praise to God with confidence?
Step Into God First: you may ask how? The psalmist said …In God I will praise his word… many claimed to know God but they are very far from him. There is need for you to step out those things that makes you none of God. You need to be truly for God to carry his presence. I pray that God’s mighty hand will pull you up out of common natural life to supernatural. There is only one non-contestable way to step into God is salvation. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12. If you can surrender your life to Jesus, you will enjoy God’s company and could trigger him in your favour in praise. Some organise praise session but they are not saved and it profit them little or nothing because God demand for our heart first. Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. Our sacrifice of praise becomes acceptable to God when we first sustained oneness with God. Your case is settled in Jesus name. Those that had experienced salvation are the ones that can express real gratitude to God, reason being that via salvation you will encountered a whole lots of human impossible miracles by the hands of God. The word of God will be a great blessing to your soul and source of our confidence because you are saved. Your experience will always be that of strength, deliverance and joy in the Lord by the word of the Lord. There are people out there that read and explain the bible with no traceable impact and divine happening around them because they have not genuinely surrendered to the Lord. Their is a need to ask ourselves how possible was it for Abraham to wait that long for God’s promises till it was fulfilled? It is possible that he was drawing strength from what God did in the life of Enoch and Noah earlier before him; that might be what fortified the confidence of Abraham because it is hard for man to believe with nothing to hold onto. Genesis 5:21-24 …And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 6:13-18 And God said unto Noah…Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. *And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. *A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. *And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. *But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. Noah received an order from God to build a special ark, God led him on how to and did what he said. All living died except those in the ark of Noah. The three Hebrew young men had stepped into God and were able to dare the king and his fire. Daniel 3:16-30 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. *If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. *But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. *Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated… And these three men, …fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. *Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. *He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. *Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire… By divine presence Paul was too much for any beast or devilish attacks. Act 28:1-6 being conscious of divine presence kills our fear because the knowledge of God via the pages of the Holy Bible instils confidence in us.
…In God will I praise his word… Just as you can pray God to action by his word, you can also stir his manifestation by praising him confidently on the basis of his word. Praise him wholeheartedly for who he is and you will fill his presence stronger within and all around you. Many place their mind on what they want from God but it’s much better when our heart rest on his word when praising him. It makes manifestation easier. At least you must have a word on your heart before you praise him. A wordless praise will not command divine attention but a word filled praise will command quick heavenly response. Jehoshaphat and the whole of Judah praise his word and three great opponent nations turn against themselves an none of them escaped. 1 Chronicle 20:1-24 …Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation; *And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. *To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. *Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. *And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord…And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. *And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
…in God I have put my trust… None has seen God at any time but by his word we trusted him and walk with him putting our trust in him is made easy by his word. We praise him confidently believing that he will do what he says he will do. God can’t say it and not do it. Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. He’s too faithful to fail. If you praise him base on what his word says, he will not fail. From now on; it will begin to show that God Almighty is with you.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Psalm 118:6. Act 16:20-26 present the trial of Paul and Silas in prison, not minding what can man do unto me? they pray and praise God aloud and their trial turned into an open testimony. Praising God confidently not minding what man can do is a sign of resting on God. Instead of John the Baptist to seek the help of Jesus, he was offended at him and lost himself. Matthew 14:1-10. Once you are offended in God, help has finished for you. Whenever you are challenged or threatened, it isn’t wrong to burst into praise facing such situation remember Paul and Silas after been beating and locked up in the inner prison they pray and praise God aloud in the prison and God brought them out with honour. The Bible renders it this way: …And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. *And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. Kingdom mysteries are the main solution and major key way out of the problems of man on earth. By confidently praising God, based on his word, you can come out of any written off worse cases.
Lesson: Open up your life to God’s word every day. Pick something from the Bible daily. Study, meditate and pray God’s word every day. Seek God for revelation because though praising God is so powerful but not without God’s word. God bless you.
