Using The Anointing Oil The First time:
Exodus 30:22-33 …And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil…
It has been noticed that some men (and women also) encounter God the first time they were anointed with the oil. It is good to note that Saul will never forget the day Prophet Samuel anointed him king over Israel which probably may be the first time he was ever anointed Read it here 1Samuel 10:1-10 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?…And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day…
Also David will never forget the day the Holy Spirit came upon him as he was anointed in the midst of his brethren by Prophet Samuel 1Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
Why is it that the anointing oil is like it works once and no more, it’s just like it is a once and for all thing whereas whenever we get anointed, there must be a sign that we have been separated unto God. The reasons Anointing oil worked once and seems it’s no more working are numerous amidst these few:-
- Your belief about the oil might have changed because it won’t work in your hand beyond your faith in the indwelling power in the bottle.
- Are you absolutely depending on God or you have alternatives.
- Is Your Prayer Life On Fire: It’s wrong to be trado-Christian whose faith is only ignited when things are handed over to him, such as candles, special water, special cloth and even the anointing oil. Once God notice that you are idolizing the oil he may withdraw his power from it.
- Are you sure you are not abusing the oil usage. ? It’s good to keep to our believe about the oil if they are scriptural proven and remain tied to God the father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
